Beaverbrook STEP is a private, non-profit corporation dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with mental retardation in Belmont,  Watertown, Waltham  and  the  surrounding  Metropolitan Boston area. We believe that every individual has an inalienable right to be an active and valued member of the community and that we have a responsibility  to  provide individuals with the training,  support, and opportunities they need to fully experience the benefits of community membership. We  also  have  a  responsibility to  help  our community understand  and  appreciate  the  gifts and talents of its members, and recognize the benefits that the community can derive from the unique contribution of each of those individuals.

In order  to  function as  a  productive and effective organizational member of  our  community, we  realize that  Beaverbrook STEP  must remain  an administratively  sound  and  financially stable corporation. We are committed to hiring qualified, professional staff people, and to providing   our  staff with adequate training, fair wages, a  positive work environment,  and  an  opportunity  for  both personal and professional growth. Further, we are committed to locating and utilizing all available financial resources   in  an effort to develop and maintain a budget that adequately addresses the needs of the individuals we assist, ensures the long-term  viability  of  the  agency, and enables  Beaverbrook STEP to realize its fullest potential.
